Marketing Information

This APC Back-UPS offers power and surge protection for wireless networks, computers, gaming consoles and other electronics in your home or business. The 425VA floor/wall mount UPS has 6 total outlets, 4 of which are battery back up and surge protection, and 2 that are surge protection only. It has a surge energy rating of 180 Joules. This battery backup is designed to power wireless home networking devices (router and modem) for hours during utility outages so you can stay connected and productive. This computer backup offers lifetime guaranteed surge protection with a $75,000 equipment protection policy. The side of this 425VA UPS includes 2 keyhole sockets to easily mount the battery backup on a wall in hard to reach installations. The outlets are arranged with spaces to accommodate both average sized power plugs and transformer block power plugs. Use the included PowerChute software to configure settings and set up automatic graceful shutdown of a connected PC in the event of an extended power outage. Audible alarms provide notification of changing utility power and UPS conditions. Audible alarms can be muted. This UPS has a 3-year warranty and CE product certification.

In terms of backups, APC indeed is a dependable brand. Despite not being the best, at least it still performs well. It has a sufficient battery with surge protection for your initial setup. Also, this is a really cost-effective option.

Old design? It is blocky in shape

Good product, works as expected. Not sure why the other reviewer says that the battery on this unit is not replaceable, as this is incorrect information (a replacement is about 25$).

APC is usually a great brand.

On p. 8 of the manual is the reason why you should NOT buy this model: The battery in the Back-UPS is not user-replaceable.

Why buy a disposable when you can buy something better? (i.e. A model with a replaceable battery like every other APC I've bought.)
