You get what you pay for.
Second device from MediaSonic I have had catastrophic data failure on. Everything backed up to a realiable ReadyNAS box, but the time associated with such unreliable hardware is not insignificant. Do not rely on this device as a backup, or even a reliable bulk storage device, they do not work well.
