Needed to replace an old mouse that was on its last legs, but didn't want to spend a lot (on sale for $17) or go with no name mouse option. Works quite well straight out of the box. Haven't downloaded the customizing software and see no point in doing so. Haven't put it through its paces as a gaming mouse.
