It’s a crisp, solid monitor for the price. Highly recommended for anyone looking to break into 4K without needing a large display

Gives me 4k 120 fps on my series x, better than 60 fps! Screen bleeding in the corners not allowing it to be completely black when watching movies with a border or in dark scenes of a game. Annoying to me for an HDR with a retail price of $850, not noticeable otherwise. $600 now on sale - less than what I paid. My first gigabyte product has me feeling like its mid tier. Not totally satisfied but still better refresh than my previous screen.

Great Monitor.

Monitor works great, nice colour. I bought 3, two 28” and one 32”. Excellent combo tons of screen real estate to get stuff done. Software is a bit glitchy.

Best budget 4K 144hz monitor for ( Xbox Series X & PS5 )

Bought this monitor in summer of 2021 specifically to game on XboxSeriesX. There is a few videos of Hardware Unboxed on YouTube that goes in depth on 4K monitors for gaming. The M28U qualifies in the top monitors in at least 80% of the main important aspects. I now play mainly on PC and it still delivers.
Looks amazing and feels very quick.
Don’t hesitate !

I am very competitive when I play so a monitor that is quick was my main priority. There is a few videos from Hardware Unboxed on YouTube that shows best 4K monitors and the M28U is always with the top end ones in 80% of the performance and quality aspects. I now play on pc in 4K and this monitor delivers as well.
Perfect choice for NextGen consoles !

the only reason not to get this is if you absolutely need a great HDR screen over everything else (over resolution, refresh rate, colour, response time etc.) I use it for gaming, creative work, and for my actual job in a creative industry. It is perfect for all three of my use cases.

Not perfect, but excellent value

Foremost, the price is the best feature for a 4K 144Hz monitor, that is IPS. Asus and Acer produce monitors with the exact same panel and are $200 to $300 more for no additional benefit for the Asus, and for Acer, just more power for your notebook if you want to power it over USB-C (65W for acer vs 18W for gigabyte). Acer has much more glare which is negative for me. The gigabyte has excellent anti-glare. Also, this panel is better than the older 4K 144Hz monitor that came out a few years ago, yet it is cheaper than those models even today. I really like the modest all black design of the monitor. I don't like RGB or other flashy glare stuff to distract me from looking at the actual screen. The Monitor is very well reviewed: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/gigabyte/m28u I like the USB hub. For the USB-C input, it supports display port 1.4 over USB-C. kvm switch is nice, from switching from PC to Xbox series X. Supports 120Hz 4K for Xbox series X and PS5. Decent stand.
My monitor did come with some dead pixels. they are located top centre, and they don't bother me enough to return the monitor, and perhaps, gigabyte would not replace it. It needs 5 dead pixels to be return per their policy, and I am not sure how many are dead. https://member.aorus.com/global/productwarranty I used this site to help find bad pixels: https://lcdtech.info/en/tests/dead.pixel.htm The monitor has minor light bleeding, which is expected for all IPS monitors that are edge lit. I used this test: https://www.lightbleedtest.com/ and the monitor was acceptable, far better than the examples that site gave for bad light bleeding. Basically, for the price, don't expect perfect, but this monitor is excellent value. HDR400 is not really HDR. For the price, it's fine.
Basically, for the price, don't expect perfect, but this monitor is excellent value and I would not recommend any 4K 144Hz monitor over it, including the new LG monitor with HDMI 2.1, because that monitor has a lot of glare and costs $300 more.
