This Solved My Macbook Pro External Microphone Issue

The cable looks of well-built quality. A small sticker is attached to the cable indicating that you must plug both the mic and the headphones first to the adapter then to the computer.

None so far.

I bought this adapter because my MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) has an audio input line that is supposed to be for microphones. However, there is a catch, is for active microphones that have been pre-amp'd. If you have a headset or analog microphone that is not "active" (i.e. powered) the Macbook fails to recognize the external microphone. I have a Sennheiser PC 21-II headset, of good quality and uses analog jacks for both the mic and the headphones. Anyway, with this adapter now the headset works like a charm. Follow the sticker instruction before plugging the adapter to the Macbook, you have to plug the microphone and the headphone jacks first to the adapter, then you can connect the adapter to the Macbook, that's how it will recognise it.
